YG and Lil Wayne unite on upbeat new song "Trill." The track is the first release of Red Bull's "20 Before 17 series," which celebrates the company's musical endeavors of 2016 in a countdown to the new year.
"Trill" was produced by Boi-1da, who worked on Drake's "0 to 100" and the Rihanna's "Work," and producer T-Minus. The two producers concocted a streamlined sound upon which YG shares his financial designs for the new year. "What's the plan? See the plan is to stack a hundred grand/ Turn that hundred grand to a million/ Turn that million to a billion/ Turn that billion to a trillion."
Lil Wayne and YG have worked together several times in the past. Wayne appeared on the remix to YG's hit "My Nigga." Wayne also showed up this year on "I Got A Question," a track on YG's Still Brazy album. In addition to "Trill," "20 Before 17" involves a variety of lectures from producer Mike Will Made It, singer Erykah Badu, former Prince engineer Susan Rogers and Dizzee Rascal.
