Following a trio of 50th anniversary shows in their native Texas this May, ZZ Top will bring their celebration on the road with an extensive U.S. summer tour. Cheap Trick will once again serve as the tour’s primary special guest, with Lynyrd Skynyrd also onboard for a pair of shows.

“It’s been five decades, and I think we’re starting to get pretty good at all this,” Billy Gibbons said of the 50th anniversary trek in a statement.

“We’re truly excited to be appearing across the continent this summer and fall, playing our bluesy kind of rock like we started in ’69. The beards, Frank [Beard]’s excepted, are perhaps a bit longer, yet nothing else has changed.  We’re keeping it that way.”

ZZ Top, who formed in 1969 and released their First Album in 1971, will open the trek August 16th in Ridgefield, Washington and pack 34 gigs into amphitheaters nationwide before concluding October 20th in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Tickets for the trek go on sale beginning April 12th.
