Young Thug, Swae Lee and Mike Will Made-It Bring the Ring to ‘Fallon’
Mike Will Made-It is a showman and, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he decided to turn the stage into a boxing ring — an homage to the Creed II soundtrack he just produced. Draped in lavish black and gold boxing robes, Young Thug and Swae Lee launched into the dreamy “Fate,” from Creed II: The Album.
The Mike Will and Plu$$-produced song has little to do with the plot or thematic elements of Creed II. Rather than boxing, “Fate” is more about a fear of skydiving and, to a lesser extent, Young Thug not telling his business to Wendy Williams and surviving in prison on bread and chili. The three Southern stars at its core make the formula work through sheer talent and chemistry — it fits right in alongside the melodic trio’s previous collabs like “Throw Sum Mo” and “Offshore.”
“Thank y’all, knockout,” Swae says at the end of the performance.
