‘X Factor’ Winners Alex & Sierra Writing With John Legend

Season 3 “X Factor” champs Alex & Sierra hit the red carpet for Delta Airlines’ star-studded Grammy party at Los Angeles’s Soho House Thursday night, and proving that they’re well on their way to becoming big stars themselves, they excitingly revealed to Yahoo Music that they’re working with a very special collaborator on their debut album.
“We’re writing with John Legend tomorrow. It’s going to be amazing,” gushed Alex Kinsey — who also said that he and his professional and romantic partner, Sierra Deaton, have been working with major hitmakers Julian Bunetta, Sam Watters, and Toby Gad since they returned to L.A. on Jan. 2, and that they’ve written “about 30 songs” so far.
“We want to make sure that every single song that comes out is something we’re proud of, not just trying to rush something out,” Sierra stressed, although Alex said their album should be out on Simon Cowell’s Syco Records “no longer than four months from right now, hopefully less than that.”
Attending their first Grammy party ever, Alex & Sierra became noticeably giddy and star-struck when the party’s headliner performer Lorde hit the red carpet midway through their Yahoo interview, with Sierra cutely exclaiming, “I feel like we’re not part of this world!”
“Here’s the deal: I think we thought we were ready for tonight, but now that we’re here, we’re like, ‘Where are we? This is crazy!’ So I don’t know, maybe we weren’t prepared,” chuckled Alex.
Let’s hope Alex & Sierra remained calm when working with Grammy-winner John Legend this Friday. Good luck, guys, and welcome to the big leagues!
