What’s the Greatest Early Beatles Song?

As most everyone knows by now, this Sunday commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ historic appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. To celebrate the occasion, CBS will air The Beatles: The Night That Changed America – A Grammy Salute this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. EST. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will also sit down for an interview at the Ed Sullivan Theater with David Letterman, which will air during the special.

Now we have a question for you: What is your favorite early Beatles song? We’re going to count everything that came out before Rubber Soul in December of 1965. That’s the point where they transitioned into an album band and their music became more psychedelic and complex. We want to focus on the young Beatles, everything from “Love Me Do” through the soundtrack to Help!.
