This year saw an unexpected return to the album format, but that didn’t stop singles from taking over in 2016. Tracks from all over the music landscape climbed the charts. Drake got his first-ever Number One single as the lead vocalist. Newer acts like the Chainsmokers and Rae Sremmurd raced ahead with left-field bangers.

Now we have a question for you: What is the best song of 2016? Feel free to choose an aforementioned Number One hit like “Closer” by the Chainsmokers or “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd, a politically charged anthem like Beyoncé’s “Formation” or Green Day’s “Bang Bang” or even a surprising new hit but a rising artist like D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli” or Kiiara’s “Gold.” Pick whichever 2016 tune you want, but please only vote once and for a single selection.
