Weekend Rock Question: What Is Prince’s Best Song?

Prince‘s death shocked the world on Thursday and led many hardcore and casual fans to explore the iconic pop, rock and R&B performer’s expansive catalog. Granted, much of Prince’s music has been purged from the Internet, with only a few videos still viewable and his songs only available to stream on Tidal. The night the news broke, however, many fans flocked to be with one another and celebrate his music communally, attending memorial parties at Minneapolis’ First Avenue and a Brooklyn block party hosted by Spike Lee.
Now we have a question for you: What is Prince’s best song? We’ll count anything as long as it is an original track recorded by Prince. Feel free to go as far back as his earliest releases like 1978’s “Just as Long as We’re Together” or 1979’s “I Wanna Be Your Lover,” newer fare such as “This Could Be Us” or “Breakfast Can Wait” or big hits like “Purple Rain,” “When Doves Cry” and “Let’s Go Crazy.” Just please only vote once and for a single song.
