“I’m a supporter of Occupy Wall Street and the other 1,300 Occupy movements,” Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello told Rolling Stone during his visit to the protest in Manhattan this week. “This is a place where, in your home town, tomorrow you could start Occupy Libertyville, Illinois. It’s a place where people can gather to express their grievances and express their solidarity with one another, like – shit ain’t right, and we’re gonna do something about it.” In addition to featuring Morello’s performance at the site, we also posted Matt Taibbi’s advice to Occupy Wall Street protesters and covered Kanye West’s appearance at the rally.

We also found out about Radiohead’s plans to record a new album early next year, talked to Noel Gallagher about music videos, took British pop singer Katy B on a tour of Manhattan, learned about Jon Spencer’s new Blues Explosion record, chatted with Blink-182 about how they got over their internal conflicts, checked out the artwork of late Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh and learned from Peter Gabriel that his hit “Solsbury Hill” was not inspired by Bruce Springsteen.

Rolling Stone also reviewed hot concerts by Björk, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Death Cab for Cutie, Ryan Adams and the all-star tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. We also analyzed this week’s pop charts, looked back on this week in rock history and, as always, reviewed all the week’s biggest releases.
