Watch Tove Lo’s Destructive, Creepy ‘Cool Girl’ Video

Swedish pop star writhes on a casket, sets hotel room on fire in excerpt from short film “Fairy Dust Chapter 1”

Tove Lo takes to the desert in the explosive video for her new single “Cool Girl.” The clip is part of a short film titled “Fairy Dust Chapter 1,” which will accompany her upcoming album Lady Wood.

In the video, Lo appears to be on the run, deep in the desert and at a seedy hotel. She is first seen shaving her head in the hotel before scenes of her writhing on top of a casket and a car weave between each other.

The singer is alone for most of the video — besides the mysterious corpse in the glass casket — until dancers join her in the hotel parking lot. As they’re about to launch a choreographed number, the video cuts to the singer in a hotel room that she lights on fire.

“Pain and pleasure go hand in hand, they say,” she says in a voiceover. “But no one mentions that pain is just a path to more pleasure. No more fear, you know?”

Tove Lo’s sophomore album Lady Wood will be released on October 28th.
