Watch Thom Yorke’s Impromptu Garden Performance

Rocker plays Radiohead songs like “Reckoner” in troubadour mode

Radiohead singer Thom Yorke played an acoustic rendition of In Rainbows song “Reckoner” in his neighbor’s garden. Yorke smiled and exchanged friendly banter with the appreciative crowd. He sipped from a champagne flute and bobbed his head to the beat.

Radiohead’s new studio album A Moon Shaped Pool was released last month. Though Yorke has expressed distaste for streaming services in the past, Pool will arrive on Spotify June 17th. Yorke memorably called Spotify “the last desperate fart of a dying corpse” in an interview with The Guardian in 2013.

Radiohead is celebrating the album’s appearance on the platform with “unique” events at record stores worldwide. According a website set up by the group, these record store happenings will include “an exclusive day-long audio stream from the band, competitions, instructional artworks, and more.”
