Watch the Weeknd’s Icy ‘Starboy’ Performance at the AMAs

The Weeknd showed off his new single “Starboy” during the 2016 American Music Awards. The track appears on the album of the same name, which will be out on November 25th.

Beginning in a hallway surrounded in ice-like glass, the Weeknd launched into his hit single as the red and blue lights began flashing around him. He left the structure towards the end of the song to perform more directly to the audience as the lights continued to surround the singer. 

Starboy is the Weeknd’s third studio album and follows up his 2015 mainstream breakthrough Beauty Behind the Madness, which was led by smash singles “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills.” The R&B star recently revealed the official track list for the album, which features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk, Future and Lana Del Rey, who sings on the “Stargirl Interlude.” In April, he’ll launch “phase one” of his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour in support of the LP.
