As the Black Keys continue their U.S. tour to support the release of their eighth album Turn Blue, the duo have released a new video detailing their rise from “Two guys in a van” to today.
“The first few tours, we were sleeping in a van, we couldn’t afford hotel rooms and it was all about the show,” recalls drummer Patrick Carney. “We had no money. We had never been to any of the towns we were going to. By the time we got home from that tour, we were addicted. We just never came off the road.”
In between Carney and singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach discussing their transition into arena stars, the video above also features performances of “Lonely Boy” and “Little Black Submarines” from 2011’s El Camino.
