Watch Taylor Swift Perform Explosive Live Cover With Beck, St. Vincent

Stadium star creates unorthodox power-trio, covers Beck’s “Dreams” during Los Angeles show

Taylor SwiftBeck and St. Vincent: the ultimate one-night-only power-trio. The arena-packing pop star brought out the latter guests during her Tuesday show at L.A.’s Staples Center, performing an energetic cover of Beck’s funky single “Dreams,” Stereogum reports.

In the fan-shot video above, Swift jumps around the stage and adds backing vocals, while Beck sings lead and St. Vincent (Annie Clark) bangs out the track’s distorted power-chord riff. The clip ends with Clark embracing the arena-pop spotlight, strutting to center-stage in front of pyrotechnic explosions to crank out a bluesy guitar solo.

“There is nothing cooler than @st_vincent soloing while pyro goes off in the background #1989TourLA,” Swift tweeted after the show, linking to a longer clip of Clark’s guitar fireworks. The Beck-St. Vincent dream team wasn’t Swift’s only high-profile stage collaboration of the night, as the singer also brought out R&B titan John Legend to sing his ballad “All of Me.”

Swift’s epic 1989 World Tour has been packed with eclectic guest performers spanning the realms of pop, country, alternative and R&B. During Monday’s show — part of a five-show residency at the Staple Center — the singer-songwriter brought out the Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines for a duet of that band’s 1999 hit “Goodbye Earl”; she also recruited Alanis Morissette to tackle the rocker’s 1995 anthem “You Oughta Know.” Earlier this month, Swift shared the stage with Mary J. Blige, Fifth Harmony, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Sam Hunt

Swift will wrap up her L.A. residency Wednesday night, trekking across the country in September and October before taking the tour overseas.
