Watch Solange Perform Two Tracks During Stunning ‘SNL’ Debut

Solange made her Saturday Night Live debut with a stunning, ethereal showcase of a pair of tracks off her acclaimed, chart-topping LP A Seat at the Table, “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair.”
For Solange’s second performance of the night, she welcomed British singer Sampha, the track’s featured guest, to the Studio 8H stage to help her out on the soulful cut.
Solange previously unveiled music videos for both “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair” off her surprise new LP, her first album in nearly eight years.
Solange’s appearance marked the first time since 2008 that a Knowles had served as an SNL musical guest: Beyoncé last appeared on the late-night sketch series in 2008 to perform “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and “If I Were a Boy.”
It was also the sixth Knowles/SNL musical guest spot overall joining the three Beyoncé visits (2003, 2008 and a surprise cameo during Jay Z’s 2002 performance) and two Destiny’s Child (2001 and 2004).
Beyoncé and their mother Tina Knowles-Lawson were also at Rockefeller Center to support Solange before her debut on the “legendary” SNL.
As evidenced by Leslie Jones’ Instagram, Jay Z was also in attendance:
SNL returns next week with first time host Dave Chappelle and what could be the final A Tribe Called Quest performance.
