Watch Sharon Jones Turn Office Into Festive, Soulful Holiday Concert
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings have brassed up this holiday season thanks to their new seasonal collection It’s a Holiday Soul Party!, a mix of traditional yuletide favorites alongside original festive compositions. With just three days until Christmas, the group stopped by NPR to perform a Tiny Desk Concert, where they unwrapped three tracks from their new LP: “Silent Night,” “8 Days (of Hanukkah)” and “Big Bulbs.”
Surrounded by yellow tinsel and flashing Christmas lights, Jones and the Dap-Kings squeeze into the NPR offices to transform the workplace into an impromptu, soulful Christmas party. The band have been spreading holiday joy throughout December, bringing “Please Come Home for Christmas to Conan, sharing their animated video for “8 Days (of Hanukkah)” and dropping their swinging “White Christmas” cover. They’ll wrap the month up with a New Year’s Eve concert at Chicago’s House of Blues.
