Watch Peter Frampton Perform Acoustic ‘Penny for Your Thoughts’ Live

Peter Frampton performs the breezy acoustic guitar piece “Penny For Your Thoughts” in this exclusive clip from his Audience Music interview-concert special, airing Friday, March 4th at 9 p.m. EST on DIRECTV and U-Verse. “Penny,” a folky instrumental from 1975’s Frampton, finds the rock legend combining quick hammer-ons, harmonics and chromatic patterns.

“It’s a real honor to be among the first artists to perform for Audience Network,” Frampton says in a statement. “‘Penny for Your Thoughts’ was something I noodled on for a while. Eventually it turned into this. Still one of my favorite pieces to play … after all these years.”

The intimate Audience Music special was filmed live at Nashville shoe store Peter Nappi  and features many of the guitarist’s signature tracks, including “Baby, I Love Your Way,” “Show Me the Way” and “Lines on My Face.”

Frampton has been in a stripped-back mood lately. In February, he released Acoustic Classics, featuring newly recorded versions of his most famous tunes, and he’ll launch the second leg of his “Peter Frampton Raw” acoustic tour on March 9th in Tuscon, Arizona.
