Watch Oasis Blow Up in Captivating New Documentary Trailer
The vibrant chaos that made – and destroyed – the British band Oasis is the focus of the upcoming documentary called Supersonic. The film opens October 2nd.
The clip mixes an engrossing montage of archival footage with interview snippets as it tracks the early lives of founding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, the band’s staggering rise and perpetual instability. “Oasis was like a Ferrari,” Liam says. “Great to look at. Great to drive. And it’ll fucking spin out of control every now and again.”
The trailer also closes with a quintessential Gallagher brothers moment from a slightly less turbulent moment in their lives. In the old video clip, Noel says of Liam, “I would apologize, but I’m not gonna because he’s a prick.” Then the two crack up.
While the long-feuding Gallaghers recorded their interviews for Supersonic separately, director Mat Whitecross has said there’s a possibility the brothers could reunite at the film’s premiere, and that Coldplay’s Chris Martin was playing peacemaker. “Neither of them have discounted the idea of getting back together,” Whitecross said, per The Guardian. “It will happen, I’m sure. The idea of never seeing them again for me is impossible.”
Unfortunately this might be magical thinking. In a recent tweet Liam slammed his brother in regards to the film, saying, “Just seen the trailer for oasis film i must say I do come across mighty fine super real unlike some people see you at the premiere.”
