Motörhead released their 22nd studio LP Bad Magic in August, and on Wednesday, Lemmy Kilmister and crew unleashed their video for “When the Sky Comes Looking for You” featuring a cold-blooded biker who calmly kills with a sneer and a snap. The video opens with a hitchhiking teenager felled for the crime of naivety by the supernatural biker. He then travels to a grimy bar where he easily dispatches the operators of a rigged poker game, all while Motörhead’s menacing track plays.
According to Blabbermouth, the video was shot over a two-day Palma de Mallorca, Spain with director Pep Bonet filling “When the Sky Comes Looking for You” with a cast of Motörhead fans who responded to an online request to appear in the band’s new video. Bonet has worked with Motörhead since 2008 and previously released the heavy metal icon’s Röadkill book of photography.
The past year has been an up-and-down one for Motörhead as their Bad Magic, their “Sympathy for the Devil” cover and their annual Motörboat cruise was contrasted by a series of canceled and postponed tour dates – due to Lemmy’s altitude sickness and age as well as the Paris terror attacks – as well as the passing of former drummer Phil Taylor.
