Miley Cyrus promised numerous exciting performances from herself and friends in an effort to promote her new organization Happy Hippie Foundation. Cyrus kicked off her Happy Hippie’s Backyard Sessions earlier this week with a Joan Jett-assisted take on the veteran rocker’s 2013 track “Different.” Now, the Bangerz singer has delivered a spirited cover of the Replacements’ “Androgynous” with some help from Jett and Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace.

For the third Backyard Sessions — following yesterday’s solo clip of Cyrus singing Dido’s “No Freedom” — the trio turn the piano-driven ballad off the ReplacementsLet It Be LP into a stirring, dynamic folk stomper. Cyrus, Jett and Grace create gravelly harmonies with their distinctive voices, making for an excellent new installment of the video series.

Cyrus premiered Happy Hippie Foundation earlier this week, with the organization aiming to help bring awareness and raise funds for homeless youth with a special focus on the LGBT youth community.

Ariana Grande and Melanie Safka are two other artists who have confirmed their support and upcoming performances for the Backyard Sessions, which debuts exclusively on Facebook with an option to donate to the charity. “I think what Miley’s doing is wonderful and important to help people find their authentic selves,” Jett told Rolling Stone. “I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Cyrus has been an outspoken supporter of rights and awareness for both homeless youth and the LGBT community. At the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, she brought a homeless teen onstage to accept an award on her behalf and tell his story. This year, she released Indiana Governor Mike Pence’s phone number on Twitter and called him “an asshole” following the passing of a controversial religious freedom law that would allow businesses to turn away LGBT customers.

“That’s what’s wrong with [RFRA supporters] – they’re not choosing to live that way,” Cyrus said. “And if you don’t choose to live that way, you’re not going to last in this generation because we are overtaking you. They are dinosaurs, and they are dying off. We are the new generation, and with that will come so much.”
