Watch Maroon 5, Kendrick Lamar Close AMAs With ‘Don’t Wanna Know’

Pop band and rapper make television debut of collaboration at the award show

Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar made their live debut of new single “Don’t Wanna Know” during the American Music Awards. Maroon 5 previously performed the song without Lamar on Ellen earlier this month.

Maroon 5 kept it simple for the show, with the full band performing in front of various light-up structures as members in the audience held up lit tubes of their own. Lamar walked onstage towards the end of the song for his verse, performing alongside Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine before the show ended.

“Don’t Wanna Know” is Maroon 5’s first new release following the rollout of tracks from 2014’s V, which included hits “Maps” and “Sugar.” The band has yet to reveal their plans for their sixth album yet. Lamar followed up his 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly with a compilation of demos released in the spring called untitled unmastered. He has appeared on songs by Beyoncé, Sia and DJ Khaled over the course of the year as well.
