Watch Liam, Noel Gallagher Combust in New Oasis Documentary Trailer
A new documentary about English rock band Oasis will be playing U.S. theaters only on October 26th. Oasis: Supersonic will chronicle the band’s fleeting success and the internal battles between its brother-band Liam and Noel Gallagher. “Oasis‘ greatest strength was me and Liam,” Noel Gallagher says in the second trailer for the film. “It’s also what drove the band into the ground in the end.”
Oasis: Supersonic was directed by Mat Whitecross, who also oversaw the film Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, a biopic about the singer Ian Dury. Two of the producers behind Supersonic, Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees, were involved with the recently released Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy.
The buzz surrounding the documentary has piqued fans’ curiosity about a potential Oasis reunion, despite ongoing turmoil between the brothers Gallagher. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Noel said he gets asked about the band’s fate “every day of the week.” “People say, ‘You’ll definitely re-form – you will,'” he noted. “I’m just like, ‘That’s so fucking rude.’ They try to Jedi-mind-trick me.”
“To be honest, I don’t need the money,” Noel added. However, Noel suggested he might be willing to rejoin his brother onstage for $50 million, he said in the interview. In the meantime, Liam is working on new solo album.
