Watch Liam Gallagher Debut New Song in Irish Pub

Acoustic track contains passing reference to Noel Gallagher’s Flying Birds LP ‘Chasing Yesterday’

Liam Gallagher has remained largely out of the spotlight since he announced the sudden demise of Beady Eye last October. However, the former Oasis singer resurfaced this weekend in an Irish pub, where Gallagher treated bar patrons to an impromptu concert that featured the unveiling of a new song. The as-yet-untitled track, recorded at Charleston bar on July 26th, also seems to contain a passing reference to his brother Noel Gallagher, NME reports.

On the acoustic track, Gallagher sings, “When I wake up and I hear you say / There’s no love worth chasing yesterday.” That lyric is reportedly aimed at Noel Gallagher’s Flying Birds, who released his most recent LP Chasing Yesterday in March. The brothers have famously been at odds since the dissolution of Oasis in 2009, although Noel Gallagher did express remorse over Liam’s Beady Eye coming to an end.

While it’s unclear what Liam Gallagher has planned next – NME writes the singer’s rep denied rumors of a solo LP in the works – Noel Gallagher has admitted he would consider reuniting Oasis if the price was right. The guitarist went on to say that a reunion is “always a possibility,” but it will come down to who’s offering what.

“I’ve been in the same room as Liam, and even then nobody’s said, ‘Weren’t Oasis great? You should reform.'” Gallagher said in January. “But if I was ever going to do it, it would only be for the money. This isn’t me putting it out there, by the way. Would I do it for charity? No way. We’re not that kind of people. For Glastonbury? I don’t think [organizer] Michael Eavis has got enough money. But would we get back together one day? As long as everybody is still alive and still has their hair, it’s always a possibility. But only for the money.”
