Watch Lady Gaga Deliver Monologue, Join House Band on ‘Corden’

Singer performed new single “A-Yo” and asked Matt LeBlanc about ‘Friends’ during stint on ‘Late Late Show’

Lady Gaga took over James Corden’s Late Late Show monologue and joined the house band as part of her appearance Tuesday night. The singer also teamed with Corden for the latest installment of the “Carpool Karaoke” segment.

Though Corden was introduced, Gaga took the stage at the launch of the show to deliver some topical jokes for the unsuspecting audience. “You may all know me as Lady Gaga, but tonight I am Lady Haha,” she offered with camp. Over the course of her brief stand-up routine, Gaga made a few jabs at Donald Trump until Corden ran into the studio half-dressed and annoyed that she had taken over his job while he was getting ready.

After a bit of a tussle, Corden agreed to let Gaga stay and join the house band. Alongside Reggie Watts’ crew, she performed her new single “A-Yo” and poked fun at Corden’s pantslessness, which he maintained for part of the episode. Later, she asked guest Matt LeBlanc “Who would you rather, Monica or Rachel?” to which LeBlanc responded with third main female character from Friends, Phoebe.

During her “Carpool Karaoke” segment, Gaga and Corden sang Joanne tracks like “Perfect Illusion” and “Million Reasons” alongside past hits “Bad Romance,” Edge of Glory,” “Pokerface” and “Born This Way.” She also discussed her upcoming appearance at Super Bowl 51 and revealed that she bought over 400 pieces of Michael Jackson’s wardrobe.

Watch Lady Gaga talk new album ‘Joanne’ and working with producer Mark Ronson.
