Watch Katy Perry Vote Naked in Funny or Die Sketch

Katy Perry teamed up with comedy website Funny or Die in a bit to encourage young people to vote. “This year, you can look like shit when you vote,” Perry said. “I’ve briefly scanned the constitution, and nowhere does it say you just can’t fall out of bed and come to the polls in whatever state you woke up in.”

In the clip, Perry shows the United States doesn’t discriminate against fashion emergencies as she goes to vote in her pajamas and applauds those who arrive in nightgowns, onesies, briefs and oversize T-shirts. In a fit of enthusiasm, the singer goes one step further, attempting to vote naked, at which point she is arrested. She ends up in the back of a cop cruiser along with fellow would-be-nude voter Joel McHale.

The clip is part of Funny or Die’s “Everyone Votes” campaign. “Given our sheer numbers and passion on critical issues, young voters are uniquely positioned to decide our next president, not to mention our next generation of district attorneys, mayors, sheriffs and others on the ballot who will determine the future in our neighborhoods,” Rock the Vote VP Jesse Moore noted in a statement. “We are excited to team up with partners like Funny or Die this year to produce a range of fun, engaging and poignant messages to urge voter registration, early voting and a renewed culture of civic engagement leading up to November 8th.”

Perry has been actively campaigning for Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton this election season, performing at the Democratic National Convention. “You’ll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist,” Perry said onstage. “At the very least you can just cancel out your weird cousin’s vote.”
