When Katy Perry invited an excited fan onstage during her Sunday performance at Brazil’s Rock in Rio Festival, the pop star probably wasn’t expecting to get kissed on the neck. But the young woman, Rayane, gave Perry an intimate, awkward greeting, as evidenced in the above YouTube video.
“Come here, baby girl,” Perry says in the clip, motioning for Rayane in the crowd. After walking onstage with a mesmerized look on her face, the fan begins kissing Perry and getting hands-y. The singer handles the exchange like a true pro, cracking jokes about the girl (“I think she’s rolling”) and pronouncing her name “Hay-ay-ay.” Perry asks Rayane how to say several words – “hello,” “pizza,” “kisses” – in Portuguese, before obliging the fan with multiple selfies.
Rayane posted her selfie with the pop star on Twitter, following it up with another photo and shout-out: “Thank you bb, I love u so much #ROCKINRIO.” The singer didn’t acknowledge the incident on Twitter, but she seemed to enjoy the performance, linking to a determined-looking photo of herself with the caption, “Me possessed by the super moon and 100k people in the audience tonight giving me life!”
Last month, Perry announced the concert DVD The Prismatic World Tour Live, which documents her December 2014 stint in Sydney, Australia, where she performed six shows at the Allphones Arena. The 20-track set – including hits like “Roar,” “Dark Horse” and “I Kised a Girl” – will be available in DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download formats on October 30th.
Perry’s epic world tour, which will span 151 performances and 18 months, concludes October 18th in San Jose, Costa Rica.
