Watch Kate Bush’s Tranquil ‘And Dream of Sheep’ Video

Singer contracted mild hypothermia while filming minimalist clip for new triple-live LP ‘Before the Dawn’

Kate Bush risked her health to complete the minimalist video for “And Dream of Sheep,” the single from her upcoming triple live-LP Before the Dawn. The stark piano ballad, originally from 1985’s Hounds of Love, follows a character lost at sea. Bush recorded a new vocal while wading in a water tank at Buckinghamshire, England’s Pinewood Studios for a double sense of realism.

“She spent so long in the water during the first day of filming that she contracted mild hypothermia,” Bush’s team said in a statement of the video. “She recovered after a day off and carried on filming. Everyone agreed it had added to the authenticity of the performance.”

The footage was projected onto a large screen hung above the stage during Bush’s residency of 22 performances at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in 2014 – her first proper concerts since 1979.

The three-disc Before the Dawn documents the three acts of the show: The first features seven tracks from throughout her career; the second includes the entirety of The Ninth Wave, the second half of Hounds of Love; and the third features A Sky of Honey, the second half of 2005’s Aerial.

Before the Dawn is out November 25th in the U.K. and December 2nd in the U.S.
