Watch Justin Bieber Impersonate Ozzy Osbourne on ‘Lip Sync Battle’
Justin Bieber faced off against Deion Sanders in the Lip Sync Battle arena this week, and the singer brought an unexpected song choice to the Spike competition: For his second lip sync of the night, Bieber dressed up like the Prince of Darkness himself to deliver Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Crazy Train.”
From the wig and round sunglasses to the black nail polish and the manic, bug-eyed stare into the audience, Bieber fully commits to the role of Ozzy for the pyrotechnic-filled performance. Bieber even ended the impersonation by biting the head off of a fake bat filled with “strawberry sauce” and then handing the body to an audience member, a nod to Ozzy’s infamous January 1982 incident in Des Moines. “It’s real blood,” Bieber joked.
Bieber’s uncanny Osbourne impression somehow managed to trump Deion Sanders’ interpretation of Madonna‘s “Like a Virgin,” with Prime Time blending elements both from the single’s music video and controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance. Sanders’ appearance had Bieber asking whether the former football star was supposed to be Madonna or a Tyler Perry character, and Sanders admitted he was a lip-sync virgin and this was his “very first time” elaborately pretending to perform a song.
Bieber opened up his Lip Sync Battle versus Sanders with a laid-back version of Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” that stripped away the lip syncs’ usual frills – the costumes, the backup dancers, the fireworks – and just relied on the Believe singer’s charm. “I just fully committed,” Bieber said. Sanders then retaliated with a similarly simple take on Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music.”
