Justin Bieber is having, by his own admission, a “rough week.” Days after cutting short a radio interview in Spain, the pop singer ended a Thursday concert in Oslo, Norway after one song when fans interfered with his attempts to clean up liquid onstage. “What are you doing? Yo, yo, what are you doing? I said stop it!” Bieber yells in a crowd-shot clip, courtesy of The Guardian, after fans grabbed his hands and feet.
“I’m trying to wipe the floor! Give me a second, yo!” he insists. But persistent fan annoyance prompts the singer to call it quits. “Nevermind, I’m done. I’m not doing the show,” he says, visibly irritated, walking off the stage as he removes his cap and headset. The reaction at the Chateau Neuf concert hall is a mixture of giggling, confused murmuring and awkward silence.
“Sadly, it’s been a rough week for me, long days, no sleep, while having to be ‘on’ as they would say for cameras, fans etc,” Bieber wrote on Instagram after the walk-off. “In no way did I mean to come across mean, but chose to end the show as the people in the front row would not listen. Hopefully, people will understand where I am coming from. I don’t always handle things the right way but I’m human and I’m working on getting better at responding, not reacting. Unfortunately, people were affected by this as am I. For the people in the back, I am so sorry and for anyone I may have disappointed, I’m sorry. Sorry for wasting the tv people’s time. I’ll be sure to make it up to you next time on tour. With love, Justin.”
Bieber’s other walk-off happened earlier this week during an appearance on Spanish radio station 40 Principales, as the singer promoted his upcoming LP Purpose, out November 13th. As The Huffington Post reports, Bieber was asked if he would help “break the Internet” by making a viral video with some of the “biggest YouTubers in Europe.” While he first responds with a sluggish “Let’s do it,” he abruptly walked away and never returned.
