Watch Jeezy, Lil Wayne’s Dark ‘Bout That’ Video
In Jeezy‘s new song “Bout That,” from his Trap or Die 3 project, the MC reminds the world of his contributions to hip-hop. “I coulda stopped at 101, tell me whose shit comin’ close to that,” he raps referring to his 2005 debut album. Lil Wayne builds on Jeezy’s boasts with dismissive lines of his own. “You ain’t bout that life,” he taunts, “not the combat life.”
In the new video for the track, Jeezy and Wayne are shrouded in darkness. In between shots of expensive cars, the screen briefly flashes a mural of Donald Trump wearing Joker-like face paint and choking the Statue of Liberty. The image mirrors the muted menace of the “Bout That” beat, a gnashing, slow-rolling track produced by D. Rich.
Trap or Die 3 recently became Jeezy’s third release to top the Billboard album chart. Jeezy’s last Number One album was 2008’s The Recession.
