Watch Gwen Stefani’s Vibrant ‘Make Me Like You’ on ‘Late Late Show’
Gwen Stefani releases her new LP This Is What the Truth Feels Like, her first solo album in a decade, on March 18th. But first, the No Doubt singer stopped by The Late Late Show With James Corden to deliver a vibrant version of the album’s second single “Make Me Like You.”
While the Corden visit lacked the visual fireworks of Stefani’s performance/Target commercial at the 2016 Grammys, the stripped-down presentation of the song, complete with some absorbing camerawork, allowed fans to focus in on the catchy, airy track, a not-to-subtle ode to boyfriend Blake Shelton.
“Misery,” the third single off This Is What the Truth Feels Like following “Used to Love You” and “Make Me Like You,” arrives on Friday. While Stefani works on her solo career, her No Doubt bandmates recently announced that they’ve joined up with AFI’s Davey Havok for a new side project.
“I actually first heard about it on the Internet,” Stefani said of the new band featuring No Doubt’s Adrian Young, Tony Kanal and Tom Dumont. “They’re doing a side project … they wanna be in a punk band. It’s not No Doubt… it’s all the guys from No Doubt doing a new band, just to do new music.”
