Goldfrapp released the electrifying, NSFW video for “Systemagic,” the latest single off their recently release new LP Silver Eye.
The expertly choreographed video – the first directed by the duo’s Alison Goldfrapp, who also handled art direction on Silver Eye‘s “Anymore” video – features a group of dancers in a darkened room convulse and gyrate to “Systemagic,” while a strange religious-like ritual involving robed, mirror-faced figures take place.
“I wanted the focus to be on the dancers, their bodies and their movement,” Goldfrapp said in a statement. “It’s my first outing into directing. And wow, what an experience! I hope I’ll do more. It’s a world I’d like to explore and learn much much more in!”

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Alison Goldfrapp revealed that she had retaken up photography, which inspired her to hop behind the camera to create visual counterparts to the duo’s music.
“Instagram definitely got me back into taking photographs, without a doubt,” Goldfrapp said. “It’s really interesting how it’s such a massive thing, isn’t it? The self-portrait is a whole other level now. Obviously we’ve been doing self-portraits for hundreds of years, but we’re just seeing them on a mass scale now and it’s really interesting.”
