Watch Elton John’s Colorful, Paint-Splattered ‘Looking Up’ Video
Elton John will release his new album Wonderful Crazy Night on February 5th, and on Tuesday, the rocker unveiled the video for first single “Looking Up.” The impressionistic, paint-splattered clip finds dabs of colors and swirling brushstrokes synching perfectly with the backbeat and piano flourishes of the singer’s rollicking new track.
The video also provides an illustrated history of Elton John’s unique eyewear. The ever-changing painting showcases the singer’s countless pairs of glasses over the past decades, from his famed heart-shaped pair that were recently stolen from a Memphis museum to the deep red lenses he’s rocking on the Red Piano Tour.
Wonderful Crazy Night once again teams John with his longtime lyricist and collaborator Bernie Taupin. Like the singer’s 2013 LP The Diving Board, the new LP was produced by T-Bone Burnett and recorded at the Village studio in Los Angeles.
