Watch Eddie Vedder Jam Out With Former Classmates at Alma Mater Fundraiser
Before Pearl Jam embark on their spring and summer tour, Eddie Vedder engaged in some impromptu band practice Saturday when the singer joined his former classmates onstage along with students and teachers from his alma mater San Dieguito Academy in Encinitas, California for the school’s annual fundraiser.
According to Pearl Jam’s official community board (via Stereogum), Vedder made a surprise appearance at the fundraiser, singing lead on Joe Jackson’s “Got the Time” and dancing along to the Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner” at the performing arts school’s benefit at the Groundlings Theatre.
The surprise alumni performance wasn’t Vedder’s only unlikely appearance this month: On February 10th, the Pearl Jam singer teamed up with comedians Adam Sandler, David Spade, Rob Schneider and Norm Macdonald to deliver a rendition of the Who’s “My Generation” to the crowd at the comedic quartet’s Seattle comedy show.
Vedder will be back onstage April 8th when Pearl Jam opens up their 2016 tour which includes stops at Bonnaroo and New Orleans’ Jazz Fest.
