Watch Dej Loaf’s Scenic ‘Desire’ Video

Dej Loaf has debuted the video for the triumphant new song “Desire.” The song is the opening track on the rapper’s 2015 EP …And See That’s the Thing.

Throughout the video, the MC performs the song in a variety of scenic settings. She is primarily in a peaceful forest or in a gazebo overlooking a serene lake, though she’s also seen in front of a nighttime cityscape. In front of these gorgeous landscapes, Dej Loaf lays out a plan of attack and stakes her claim on her place in hip-hop. “I ain’t goin’ back to my old life/I’m in this shit for real,” she says early in the song.

Dej Loaf gave a statement to Complex about the song, which was produced by IzzetheProducer, and described “Desire” as “a song where I had a lot on my mind [and] chest and wanted to get it off. So much to say!” According to the rapper, the song was meant to express her ambition. “No matter what, I’m going to get it, and I won’t be stopped!”
