Lip Sync Battle‘s Season Two premiere was a Tatum showdown, with Channing squaring off against wife Jenna Dewan Tatum on Thursday. The show-stopper was Channing’s take on Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls),” which featured the Hateful Eight actor dressed in character – along with a momentary assist from the singer herself.
Tatum started the performance atop a giant fake horse and stepped off to begin his lip-sync. Dressed from head to toe as the singer, the actor recreated Beyoncé’s dance moves with wind-blown hair for dramatic effect – but the battle became a bit unfair when Beyoncé herself graced the stage.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum delivered an homage to Magic Mike with her performance of Ginuwine’s R&B jam “Pony,” dressed as her stripper husband from the film. After gyrating around the stage in her tank top and sweatpants, she called out Channing for a lap-dance. Well played, but any time you can secure an appearance from Queen B herself, the deck is stacked in your favor.
Channing also channeled Queen Elsa of Arendelle for a glittery lip-sync of Frozen ballad “Let It Go,” twirling and stomping across a wintry stage.
