Watch Bono, Hozier, Glen Hansard Busk on Dublin Street

U2 singer performs “Every Breaking Wave,” “When Love Comes to Town” as part of annual charitable event

An annual Christmas Eve tradition finds Bono and some musical friends busking on Dublin, Ireland’s Grafton Street to raise money for a local charity, and while the U2 singer’s 2014 was nixed by his bicycle accident, a mended Bono was back at it again this holiday season. This time around, Hozier, Glen Hansard, Kodaline, the Script and more also joined in on the tradition, which featured renditions of U2’s “Every Breaking Wave” and “When Love Comes to Town” along with Hozier’s “Take Me to Church.”

Proceeds from the busk benefit the Simon Community, a homeless charity in Dublin. The tradition started in Christmas Eve 2009 and has continued on with an unannounced gig in the Dublin shopping hub every year until last year, but Bono made sure to start the streak anew. The Grafton Street show marked Bono’s second time busking this year: In May, he and the rest of U2 donned disguises during a surprise subway platform gig in New York during a Tonight Show appearance.
