With the stage set up like a street corner, Rexha sat at the top of a stoop and delivered the sultry “I Got You” with a stripped-down instrumental arrangement and a cadre of back-up singers. Halfway through the performance, Rexha moved from the song’s tumbling hook into a simmering take on Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.”
“I Got You” appears on Rexha’s second EP, All Your Fault: Pt. 1, which arrived last week. Rexha began her career as a songwriter for other pop artists (notably working on Eminem and Rihanna’s “The Monster”). Her first major solo break was her G-Eazy collaboration on “Me, Myself and I.” Rexha will embark on a North American tour March 1st in Dallas, Texas.
