The video opens with singer Natasha Khan performing the song in front of a glittery curtain. The mod styling of the scene coneys a sad nostalgia as Khan croons the ominously romantic song. As the video progresses, the camera captures her in various locations in the sparkling room, sitting in front of a bouquet of lowers and moving closer to the room’s darkness.
The Bride debuted earlier this summer and was Bat for Lashes’ first album since 2012′ The Haunted Man, though Khan collaborated with Toy in 2015 on the album Sexwitch. During an interview with Rolling Stone, Khan revealed that the inspiration for the album and the character of The Bride was inspired by her desire to create a feature-length film.
