Anohni explores different kinds of heaven, bliss and serenity in the captivating new video for “Paradise.” Director Colin Whitaker said the video’s concept was for Douglas to “move through reflections of different images of paradise.”
The clip stars visual artist and model Eliza Douglas. She appears motionless while sitting behind the wheel of a car, standing in front of a black backdrop and then in front of a screen, which projects footage of natural settings to (fittingly) New York’s Paradise Garage club.
“Paradise” is the title track from Anohni’s upcoming EP companion to her 2016 album, Hopelessness. The release finds Anohni reuniting with Hopelessness collaborators Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke. Paradise arrives March 17th via Secretly Canadian and Rough Trade.
Earlier this year, Anohni teamed with CocoRosie for a searing anti-Donald Trump protest song, “Smoke ‘Em Out,” which was released for the Women’s March on Washington.
