Watch Animated Father John Misty Perform Humorous New Song ‘This is America’
Father John Misty sings about death and Go-Gurt in new song “This is America,” which will be featured in Adult Swim’s animated sketch-comedy show Brad Neely’s Harg Nallin’ Sclopio Peepio.
The humorous ditty chronicles various ludicrous ways in which Americans have supposedly died “doing the dumbest of shit” as he sings on the chorus.
He opens the tune with a story about an unfortunate guy dressed up as Batman who died with “his penis out/ with a magazine/ and a Go-Gurt hanging out of his mouth.” For some reason, each of the sad demise scenarios feature Go-Gurt as a part of the equation.
The show, which stars Broad City‘s Ilana Glazer, Precious lead actress Gabourey Sidibe and Saturday Night Live alum Darrell Hammond, also featured André 3000 and Lizzo in previous episodes.
Father John Misty will appear on the series’ first-season finale, entitled For Alba, which airs on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim on Sunday at 11:45 p.m. ET.
