Angel Olsen has released her new video for “Shut Up Kiss Me.” The song hails from her forthcoming third studio full-length album, My Woman, which will be released this fall via Jagjaguwar.
The singer eschews her softer, folkier past a bit for a more sassy, flirty approach on “Shut Up Kiss Me,” which comes off as a fervent, urgent plea in the clip. Directed, written and starring the singer, the video features the artist in a silver wig (as she wore in her “Intern” video) at several locales. The tune’s softer acoustic stroll-like beginnings soon give way to the chorus’ catchy demand. “Shut up, kiss me, hold me tight,” Olsen insistently sings. “Stop you’re crying it’s all right.” Whether she’s in a bar, gliding around a roller skating rink or working the food counter, the object of her affection would likely be hard-pressed to not give in to her exceeding charms.
My Woman will be released on September 2nd. Olsen and her six-piece band hit the road this fall, beginning September 9th in Atlanta, GA, at Terminal West.
