Watch Alicia Keys Debut Simmering New Songs on ‘SNL’

Less than a week after Alicia Keys unveiled her new single “In Common,” the singer appeared on the Brie Larson-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live for the live debut of that Latin-infused track.
Keys, making her first SNL appearance since 2010, delivered a simmering, sensual rendition of the Illangelo-produced song bolstered by a locked-in backing band. For Keys’ second musical guest spot, she premiered her soulful, gospel-influenced “Hallelujah,” an original composition and not the oft-covered Leonard Cohen classic, for the first time on television.
Both “In Common” and “Hallelujah” are expected to feature on Keys’ upcoming sixth studio LP, the follow-up to 2012’s Girl on Fire later in the year. The album’s title and release date have not yet been revealed.
Keys will be back on NBC on a regular basis when she joins the judges’ panel on the upcoming 11th season of The Voice alongside fellow new recruit Miley Cyrus.
