Watch Alessia Cara, Katy B’s Soulful ‘Hotline Bling’ Duet

Alessia Cara already slowed down Drake’s smash hit “Hotline Bling” on her own, but at a recent London gig, the young Ontario, Canada native joined British singer Katy B for a new cover of the track.

“We’re going to do a cover of the lovely Drake,” Cara said before launching into the smooth take that remains faithful to the version she recorded for Australian television with just her band. Cara and B’s soulful voices meld seamlessly together, turning the catchy track into a more heartbreaking ballad.

Cara has gotten numerous co-signs from some of music’s biggest names, including Taylor Swift and Lorde, and has gotten support from Drake himself, who called her “my lil one from the 6 side” on Instagram. Her debut LP, Know-It-All, will be released on November 13th via Def Jam and follows up the success of her Isaac Hayes-sampling single “Here.” Listeners can now stream the album in full on NPR’s site.
