Warner Music Group Celebrates at Exclusive Grammy After-Party
The Grammys after-party for the Warner Music Group felt particularly festive this year. The company’s various labels managed to snag a significant number of awards, and attendees included Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Muse lead singer Matthew Bellamy and his pregnant girlfriend Kate Hudson, Seal and Heidi Klum, Paramore, Janelle Monáe, Neil Patrick Harris and Jeff Beck, who’d garnered six nominations for his Emotion & Commotion album and received three awards.

“I’m fucking happy—it’s most unexpected,” the guitar legend told Rolling Stone at the party, which was held at West Hollywood’s Soho House. “I never get that lucky!” As for Beck’s pick for best performance of the night: Lady Gaga. “She writes great songs, but you never know what she’s going to do,” Beck said. “She usually goes into the danger zone, but tonight she was quite normal—which was great.”
The party’s coolest guests, though, were unquestionably the Black Keys. The band were commemorating two big wins, for “Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals” and “Best Alternative Music Album” (their studio partner DangerMouse also received a Producer of the Year nod, and their Brothers album nabbed a “Best Recording Package” win as well). “It blew our minds,” Black Keys guitarist/singer Dan Auerbach said. “We’d never even been nominated.”

“We never expected to win a fuckin’ Grammy,” Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney said. “It’s been eight years of overnight success. We only had to release 100 songs to get here. The weirdest part was when we won for best Zydeco album!” he joked.
The duo also made some new friends at the ceremony. “We saw Justin Bieber, we saw Madonna, we saw Nicki Minaj’s and Kim Kardashian’s asses,” Auerbach said. “We touched The Situation. His skin is incredible.”

“And of course,” Auerbach deadpanned, “We have a 3D documentary coming out.”
