Wale Drops New Mixtape ‘Summer on Sunset’

Cam’ron, Ty Dolla $ign, Tha Dogg Pound feature on mixtape while Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Schumer and Pete Davidson make appearances

Wale celebrates warmer weather and his move to Los Angeles on the rapper’s new mixtape Summer on Sunset, which dropped on Friday. The 17-track mixtape, Wale’s first release since his 2015 LP The Album About Nothing, features guests Cam’ron, Ty Dolla $ign, Tha Dogg Pound and more as well as production from DJ Mustard, Jake One and more. Download or stream Summer on Sunset at DatPiff.

Wale teased the mixtape earlier in the week with a trailer featuring his longtime muse Jerry Seinfeld, who tells the rapper in the clip, “I heard you’re moving out to L.A. to clear your head. Oh, my God. There’s very little clear head out there. L.A.’s fun. A lot of people out there work hard, but the people that aren’t working are partying even harder so stay cool and be yourself. Don’t ever change.”

Seinfeld is among a dozen celebrities that make quick cameos during Summer on Sunset: Amy Schumer, Mark Wahlberg, Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, wrestler Triple H and singer Justine Skye also make appearances throughout the mixtape.
