Vomit

Christopher Owens delves into romantic dejection and his Christian upbringing with a biblical reference and this brooding song on Father, Son, Holy Ghost, his second album as half of the duo Girls. “It's about an obsessive, unhealthy need for co-dependency,” Owens said. An acoustic guitar and pleading vocals gives way to organs and a gospel choir on the song. The title “Vomit” comes from the Bible, in which King Solomon says, "As a dog returns to his vomit, so does a fool return to his folly." This reminded Owens of a past relationship: “She doesn't want me anymore, but I was like a dog returning to my vomit every time.”
