Video: Bruno Mars Covers ‘Billie Jean,’ Talks About Future Plans

Just a day after learning his “Grenade” bumped Katy Perry from the top of the Billboard Hot 100, Bruno Mars rang in 2011 at New York’s Renaissance Hotel, performing an intimate set overlooking the Times Square mania below. The seven-time Grammy nominee’s performance featured his latest chart-topping hit and other cuts from his 2010 debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, including “Just the Way You Are,” “Marry You” and “Runaway Baby.” He also slipped in covers that slickly showcased his R&B roots: Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” Prince’s “Kiss” and Ginuwine’s “Pony.” Before taking the stage as a part of the hotels’ RLife LIVE series, Mars spoke to Rolling Stone about what’s ahead for 2011.
