Vanilla Ice Resurrects ‘Ninja Turtles’ Song for Mac and Cheese Ad
There are few things more timeless than a hearty bowl of macaroni and cheese, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the hip-hop-ish stylings of Vanilla Ice. Now all three have converged in a new spot for Kraft’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mac and cheese shapes, which finds the rapper stocking shelves and reviving his cut “Ninja Rap” (also known as “Go Ninja Go”) from the half-shelled heroes’ 1991 movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.
If the premise alone sounds unbearably goofy and awkward, just wait until one shopping mom starts popping and locking with the rapper much to the dismay of her mortified son (lighten up, kid – moms know how to boogie with the best of them). It’s a clever gambit sure, but hardly reaches the advertorial apotheosis of Kraft re-recording EMF’s “Unbelievable” as “They’re Crumbelievable” (Oh!) to push cheese crumbles.
