Vampire Weekend have pushed back the release of their new album, Modern Vampires of the City, by a week. The band updated their website, moving the U.S. release date from May 7th to May 14th (with a May 13th international release), citing “unanticipated delays in the production of physical copies of the record” in a Facebook post.
Modern Vampires of the City will be the New York rockers’ first album in three years, following 2010’s Contra. “There was a certain point where we kind of knew deep down that it didn’t quite feel right,” frontman Ezra Koenig told Rolling Stone in January, talking about the album’s drawn out creative process. “We knew it could be better.”
