Ty Longley’s Baby Born

Son carries on late Great White guitarist’s name

The girlfriend of late Great White guitarist Ty Longley gave birth
to a baby boy on August 12th. The child, Acey Ty Christopher
Longley, was named after his father, killed in the February 20th
Rhode Island nightclub fire.

Acey weighed in at seven pounds, seven ounces, and according to
a Web post by his mother Heidi Peralta, “He looks just like his
Daddy!”

Longley was among the 100 people killed when a pyrotechnics
display sparked a fire that consumed the Station nightclub in West
Warrick, Rhode Island, in February; he was thirty-one. A trust, the
Baby Longley Fund, has been established for the child, with money
being raised from benefit concerts and a memorial Ty Longley
T-shirt.

Longley memorial funds have been a sore point among those close
to him. According to Peralta, the Baby Longley fund is the only one
that will directly benefit the child, though several other
charities — the Ty Longley Fund, the Ty Longley Foundation and the
Ty Longley Memorial Fund — have been set up in the guitarist’s
name by family, friends and management.
